Building Performance Modelling

[Building Performance Modelling]

CAR offers advanced capabilities in modelling the environmental performance of buildings for daylight, sunlight and natural ventilation, and to predict thermal performance.
Embodied Energy

[Embodied Energy]

With extensive knowledge of the embodied energy of buildings, CAR can identify best practice, minimise the CO2 footprint, and calculate energy use trade-offs.
Renewable Energy

[Renewable Energy]

CAR can provide truly independent advice about how to meet planning requirements for the '10% Rule' for on-site renewable energy.
Low Carbon Technologies

[Low Carbon Technologies]

CAR can help you make informed decisions about which of the many low carbon technologies will deliver real CO2 benefits.
Climate Change and Buildings

[Climate Change and Buildings]

CAR can advise on improving the energy performance of new buildings and examine an existing building to cut the carbon footprint.
Energy Management

[Energy Management]

CAR’s self-assessment matrix helps managers diagnose the state of energy management in their organisation.
Environmental Impact Assessment and Planning Support

[Environmental Impact Assessment]

CAR’s impact assessments cover daylight, the wind environment, sustainability and renewable energy. CAR can prepare reports for planning authorities.
Energy Certificates

[Energy Certificates]

CAR carries out energy analysis and certification work on non-domestic buildings in the UK and overseas.
Carbon Footprinting

[Carbon Footprinting]

CAR and Cambridge Carbon Footprint provide both technical solutions for buildings and support for tenants and residents who are concerned about their CO2 emissions.
Carbon Footprinting

[CarbonLite]

CAR is part of a team developing ClimateLite – an early stage software tool that will steer design teams towards integrated low carbon design.
[Back to Services]
CAR has been committed to sustainable design since the company was founded in 1987, and has built up an impressive track record of completed projects. Design for sustainability involves many inter-related areas of expertise which we have broadly classified into nine sectors, but the boundaries are set aside when CAR considers its response to each new project enquiry.
