The Boots 'wets' factory of 1932 by the engineer-architect Sir Owen Williams is an outstanding landmark of early modern architecture in Britain. Its purpose was the manufacture of medicines and cosmetics and, remarkably, this still continues today. CAR recently completed a Conservation Management Plan to reconcile the constant need for updating equipment and plant with the building's Grade I listing status. Read more »
